Gloved hands and instruments during an implant procedure

What are implants and prosthetics?

An implant is a small titanium post placed in the bone, in place of the root of a missing tooth. A prosthesis is then fixed on top of it, replacing the visible tooth and restoring chewing and appearance.

When an implant is not suitable, or not the only option, there are other types of prosthesis: crowns, bridges, and removable or implant-supported fixed dentures. The choice depends on each case.

CROE’s dentists were the first in town to offer prosthetics and porcelain crowns. Today, digital planning and guided surgery make treatment more comfortable and predictable.

Who it is for

  • People who have lost one or more teeth
  • People who wear dentures or a removable prosthesis and want something more secure
  • People with badly damaged teeth that need to be extracted
  • People with an old, ill-fitting or uncomfortable prosthesis
  • People who find it difficult to chew or smile

How it is done

With a digital scan and advance planning, every step is defined before surgery.

1

Assessment and examinations

An appointment with the specialist, a clinical examination and imaging to assess your bone and gums.

2

Digital scan and planning

The digital record of your mouth makes it possible to study the ideal position of each implant.

3

Guided surgery

A surgical guide made from the plan directs the procedure, under local anaesthetic.

4

Prosthesis and follow-up

Once healed, the permanent prosthesis is fitted, followed by maintenance check-ups.

Frequently asked questions

Can’t find your question? Talk to our team on WhatsApp.

What is guided surgery?
It is a technique in which surgery follows a guide produced from the digital plan. This means the position, angle and depth of each implant are defined before the procedure.
Does an implant hurt?
The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic. In the following days, any discomfort is usually managed with the advice and medication given by your dentist.
How long does treatment take?
It depends on each case: the number of implants, the quality of the bone and the type of prosthesis. The timeline is set out in your treatment plan, after the assessment.
Can anyone have an implant?
Your general health, gums and bone need to be assessed. Some conditions require preparation before an implant. The specialist assessment will determine the best option for you.
Do you accept dental insurance plans?
CROE does not work with dental insurance plans. Treatment is private, paid by credit card or upfront. At your consultation, you will see the full plan for your case before you decide.
